The administration of the Tripura tribal Areas and Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) on Wednesday announced an ambitious TIPRA-HAM (Tripura Indigenous Peoples’ Livelihood Resource Assistance and Help For Advancement of Micro-Entrepreneurship) scheme to provide self-employment opportunities for the indigenous youths of the state.Under the TIPRA-HAM scheme, the beneficiaries will be getting a collateral-free low-interest loan for Electric Auto with a 20% subsidy from the TTAADC, said founder of the TTAADC’s ruling TIPRA Motha Pradyot Kishore Debbarma.Addressing a press conference here at Agartala, he said that the primary objective of the TTAADC administration is to encourage entrepreneurship-based livelihood. He said, “To make the system transparent, we are launching a portal today. Those who need auto loans, for which we are giving a subsidy, can apply on the portal of TIPRA HAM.”Applicants of the scheme must be permanent residents of a TTAADC area, of 21-45 years of age and should contribute 15 per cent of the total cost of the autorickshaws.“We have also thought of some schemes for buying vehicles for bringing veggies from villages to markets. Our job is to give people opportunities to earn more money and promote more entrepreneurship. That is why we started the policy,” he said, adding that charging points would be provided in each house and every zonal area for the electric autorickshaws.
