Just ahead of the Tripura by elections for the Boxanagar (No-20) and Dhanpur (No-23) seats which will be held on September 5, 206 voters left various parties and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in presence of Minister for Finance, Planning and Coordination, Information Technology Pranajit Singha Roy and Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder at Bijoynagar area in Boxanagar on Sunday. Minister for Finance, Planning and Coordination, Information Technology Pranajit Singha Roy and Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder handed over the party flags to them in the joining ceremony.

Speaking to the reporters in the joining ceremony Minister for Finance, Planning and Coordination, Information Technology Pranajit Singha Roy said, 206 voters from CPI (M) and Tipra Motha joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).  BJP will win both the seats in the Tripura by elections with huge mandate. The BJP-led Tripura government is working for overall development of the people of the state. Tripura has created a model of ‘good governance and protection of people’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of the state would have to carry forward the tradition, he added.

The Narendra Modi government scaled up various welfare schemes keeping the poor in focus and expedited their implementation. The Modi government scaled up schemes and enhanced speed to achieve targets so that they reached the last person in society, he added.

India has emerged as a strong, self-reliant country in the last nine years under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Due to his policies and decisions in the interest of the country, India’s reputation has grown all over the world, he said.
