Tripura: CM Dr. Manik Saha inaugurates Fish Transhipment Yard
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday inaugurated the first of its kind alternate fish transhipment yard at Nagicherra.
He said that the yard is established at the outskirts of the city so that the people of city areas are facilitated with congestion and pollution free environment, which are caused due to the loading and unloading of trucks boarding fishes from outside the state.
Build with Rs. 3.50 Crore, the fish transshipment yard is equipped with canteen, drinking water, and electricity facilities, which perhaps will benefit the locals, traders and truck drivers, Dr. Saha said, adding that some local entrepreneurs have expressed interest in setting up cold storage next to this fish transshipment yard.
The Chief Minister hoped that the transshipment yard and the cold storage if established next to it will help in generating employment opportunities.
The Deputy Speaker of the state legislative assembly Ramprasad Paul, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, AMC commissioner Dr. Sailesh Yadav and others were also present.
