The Tripura Governor Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Tuesday paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his death anniversary, observed as Martyrs’ Day across the Nation.

The Governor said that Mahatma Gandhi was the epitome of truth and non-violence; he led several land mark movements during the freedom struggle, to free the nation from the British yoke.

Sharing various anecdotes from the lives of Mahatma Gandhi, the Governor said “the life and principles of Gandhi ji are worth emulating.” 

Gandhi ji was strictly against un-touchability or discrimination. Let us, on this occasion, give up the feeling of discrimination towards people suffering from Leprosy and take a pledge for their welfare so that they can be included in the mainstream of the society, said the Governor.

Minister for Industry & Commerce, Jail (Home) OBC Welfare Santana Chakma also paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his death anniversary. Director of ICA department Bimbisar Bhattacharjee and others were also present.
