Education has a crucial role to play in making Tripura self-reliant and prosperous, said Minister of Power, Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare and Election Department Ratan Lal Nath after inaugurating the newly constructed building of Mohanpur Girls H.S. School at Mohanpur on Thursday. A total of Rs 2 crore 10 lakh have been spent on the construction of the new building of the school, he added.
To build a self-reliant Tripura, the younger generation should be educated in quality education. Students should be sensitive, socially responsible and patriotic. Only then will it be possible to build a self-reliant Tripura, he added.
Referring to the new National Education Policy, the Minister said that this education policy is also being implemented in the state in phases. As a result, students’ mental stress will be reduced a lot. He said that there is no shortage of talent among the children of the state. The state government has given special emphasis on building the best system in health and education, he added.
The new education policy also focuses on research and development to make India a key research and development destination for the world,” he said. “The policy lays special emphasis on the National Research Foundation because innovation is important for the country’s progress. Only when we strengthen innovation and research will our country remain competitive and move ahead. The more innovation is strengthened in the country the more progress it will make in a competitive world,” he added.
Mohanpur Panchayat Samiti Chairman Rina Debbarma, Vice Chairman Rakesh Deb, Education Department Additional Director Rakesh Debbarman and others were also present.
