Police arrests 7 with Marijuana
Tripura police arrested five persons including four women from Bagbasa area on Sunday.The police stated that acting on a tip-off, Police personnel from Bagbasa police station laid a trap and stopped a vehicle bearing number AS10C-6426. During the raid police recovered 20 kilograms of marijuana from different bags of the arrested persons. The arrested persons have been identified as Meena Devi (40), Sakila Devi (42), Viva Devi (22), Pooja Devi (20) and Rajiv Prasad (30) all of the resident of Bihar State. Moreover, the estimated value of the confiscated cannabis (ganja) in the illicit market amounts to approximately Rs 5 lakh.A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against the arrested persons.
In a separate raid by the police personnel of Bishramganj police station along with TSR personnel they arrested two persons from Bishramganj area on Sunday. The arrested persons have been identified as Suman Basar and Shafiul Basar. The police stated that on the basis of secret information, police personnel from Bishramganj police station along with TSR raided the house of Suman Basar and Shafiul Basar. During the raid police recovered 15 kilograms of Marijuana.The estimated value of the confiscated cannabis (ganja) in the illicit market amounts to approximately Rs 4 lakh.A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against the arrested persons.
