Police arrests one drug peddler
Tripura Police arrested one drug peddler and seized 33 grams of heroin near the Tripura University area on Monday night.
The police stated that they received a crucial tip-off regarding one drug peddler, on the basis of the tip-off police personnel from Amtali Police Station laid a trap near the Tripura University area and arrested the drug peddler identified as Jhutan Mia resident of Pholtoli area. Police seized 33 grams of heroin packed in three soap cases from his possession. Moreover, the estimated value of the confiscated heroin in the illicit market amounts to approximately around Rs 1,20,000, said cops.
The accused driver was booked under relevant sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
A hunt is on to arrest his subordinates, said police.
