Eid-Al-Adha celebrated with full devotion and congregation
Thousands of people belonging to Muslim community gathered at the Gedu Mia Masjid in the state capital to offer morning prayers (Namaaz) on the holy and much important occasion of Eid-Al-Adha on Monday. The Eid prayers started around 8:30am conducted by the Imam of the mosque.
Muslims hugged and exchanged greetings of peace and love even with those belonging to other religions. The festival of sacrifice celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son to keep his word to God. Islam gives the message of sacrifice and this celebration of Eid is basically for sacrifice of the loved ones. It spreads the message of love,” said Azhar Khan, who came along with his son to participate in the prayer.
Eid ul Adha is the festival where qurbani is performed for Allah, and it is one of the most valuable festivals for Muslims. In the Quran, qurbani was the first give bye to the to the prophet Ibrahim, who decided to kurban his son Ismail to God.
