Assam Rifles Battalion under the aegis of HQ Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) celebrated Independence Day with utmost enthusiasm and zeal to commemorate 77th Independence Day. Assam Rifles paid homage to all the bravehearts by organising a wreath laying ceremony, hoisting of Tri-colour at Agartala Garrison and a band display at Albert Ekka War Memorial at Agartala, on Tuesday.
The day further became eventful when Assam Rifles celebrated the day with students of Assam Rifles Public School, Agartala & Udaipur wherein the students were informed about how Independence was achieved after constant struggle of years, highlighting the names of freedom fighters who made the ultimate sacrifice for the motherland.
Students also showcased their talents in form of cultural programs and were rewarded by the witnessing senior officials of Assam Rifles. The event culminated with singing of National Anthem and distribution of sweets to students & teachers. A total of 1044 students, 70 teachers & 120 persons from Assam Rifles participated in the event at different locations.
