Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday lead a massive rally in support of the two BJP candidates – Tafajjal Hossain and Bindu Debnath, who were nominated to contest for Boxanagar and Dhanpur assembly constituency respectively.

Both the candidates on Thursday submitted their nomination papers, while the Chief Minister Dr. Saha accompanied by the Union MoS for SJ&E Pratima Bhoumik, senior party leaders joined in a rally in support of the party’s nominated candidates.

Addressing the gathering of party supporters of Sonamura sub-division, the Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said, “The BJP government has brought massive transformation in Tripura in terms of development and connectivity.”

Dr. Saha appealed to the electorates of the constituencies to vote for the BJP candidates thoroughly and conclusively. The bye-elections are scheduled to be held on September 5 next.

Earlier on Wednesday last the opposition CPI-M candidates – Mizan Hussain and Kaushik Chanda had submitted their nomination papers, while the Congress had expressed their support to the CPI-M candidates and TIPRA Motha announced to stay away from contesting the bye-elections.
