Assam Rifles participates in awareness rally
Assam Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) participated in Awareness Rally to commemorate “World Suicide Prevention Day 2023” at Agartala, Tripura on Sunday. The awareness rally was in collaboration with Indian Psychiatric Society which commenced from Rabindra Satbarshiki Bhawan premises with a theme of “Creating Hope Through Action”. The rally was inaugurated by Dr Supriya Mallik, Director of Health Services, Govt of Tripura. Main aim of organizing the event was to project that how suicide can effect every one of us, the devastation which it can cause and the profound negative impact it has on individuals and persons around them. A total of 80 persons from Assam Rifles participated with the locals. A seminar on Prevention of Suicide was also organized at Agartala Garrison of Assam Rifles, wherein Dr Priyojyoti Chakma, Hony Secretary, Indian Psychiatric Society shared his valuable knowledge on the subject with troops and addressed their queries. The seminar was attended by 373 troops.
