Mayor unveils statue of Rabindranath Tagore
Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder on Sunday unveiled the statue of Rabindranath Tagore at Banamalipur. The statue of Rabindranath Tagore was built at a cost of Rs 15 Lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder said that Rabindranath Tagore was a true legend and an inspiration for past generations. He is an inspiration for us and generations to come. As the outstanding poet of modern India, Rabindranath Tagore is not unexpectedly referred to as ‘Kaviguru’ in Bengal, but he is equally well-known in the rest of India as ‘Gurudev’, he added.
Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder termed Tagore as a living institution, who enlightened various spheres of life with his genius.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President Rajib Bhattacharjee and other dignitaries were present.
