Minister of Power, Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare and Election Department Ratan Lal Nath on Saturday inaugurated the 33 KV Sub-Station at Khowai.

Addressing in the inaugural ceremony Minister of Power, Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare and Election Department Ratan Lal Nath said electricity has played an important role in the development of civilization. Development is not possible without the help of electricity. The current government is working to keep the electricity supply intact in the state, he added.

Minister Ratanlal Nath also said that the Tripura government is working to ensure 500 megaWatt of renewable power by 2030 to contribute to the Centre’s target of hiking the capacity of non-fossil energy to 500 gigaWatt. The target of 500 megaWatt power will be met by installing solar grids, floating solar units, cannon solar units, rooftop solar units, microgrid solar units and other off-grid systems, he added.

He appealed to everyone to extend their hand of cooperation in making ‘Ek Tripura Shrestha Tripura’. 8 crore 24 lakhs have been spent on the construction of 33 KV substation and two-storey control room building, said Ratan Lal Nath.

MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury, Chairman of Khowai Zilla Parishad Joydev Debbarma and others were also present.
