Nagicherra Fish Transshipment Yard becomes operational
The loading and unloading of trucks boarding fishes in the Nagicherra Fish Transshipment Yard has started on Saturday. Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder formally launched the loading and unloading of trucks boarding fishes in the Nagicherra Fish Transshipment Yard on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder said that the Nagicherra Fish Transshipment Yard is established at the outskirts of the city so that the people of city areas are facilitated with congestion and pollution free environment, which were caused due to the loading and unloading of trucks boarding fishes from outside the state, he added.
Build with Rs. 3.50 Crore, the fish transshipment yard is equipped with canteen, drinking water, and electricity facilities, which perhaps will benefit the locals, traders and truck drivers, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder said, adding that some local entrepreneurs have expressed interest in setting up cold storage next to this fish transshipment yard.
