Stage set for ‘Mayer Gomon’ – Carnival on Oct 26
The stage is all set up for the ‘Mayer Gomon’ – Durga Puja Carnival on October 26 (Thursday). All bigger clubs of the city will be immersing their idols on Thursday.
Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder said that the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has taken all the steps to ensure a safe and secure ‘Mayer Gomon’ idol immersion at Dashamighat. It will take barely 10-15 minutes for the idol immersion, he added.
We have arranged cranes, labourers and around 40 drummers at the idol immersion site in Dashamighat. Till now 376 clubs have registered to access our services regarding idol immersion. And around 182 clubs have already completed the idol immersion process. The remaining clubs will participate in the idol immersion process on the ‘Mayer Gomon’ – Durga Puja Carnival day, he added.
Like previous years, special initiatives have been taken for the cleanliness of the city. The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has taken all out efforts to ensure a pollution free festival.
Tripura government hosted the first ever Durga Puja Carnival in the year 2019.
