In a first of its kind for the state of Nagaland, two film personalities Ms. Kivini Shohe and Ms. Andrea Kevichüsa, will be representing Nagaland at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, 2023. The Festival will be held from 16th to 27th of this month. Ms. Kivini Shohe is a prominent Filmmaker and a founding member of the Film Association of Nagaland. Ms. Shohe is also a recipient of the Governor’s Award 2014 in the field of Arts for filmmaking.
Ms. Andrea Kevichüsa is an Indian model and actor from Nagaland. She made her acting debut with Anek in 2022, for which she won the Filmfare Award 2023 for Best Female Debut. Ms. Kevichüsa has worked with several fashion designers and notable brands.
Joint Director Department of Information & Public Relations, Government of Nagaland, Ms. Asangla Imsong told Akashvani News, that the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting in its efforts to promote and support the development of North East film sector, would be sending a delegation of North East Film Fraternities at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival. Ms. Imsong said the Ministry is supporting and sponsoring two persons each from film fraternities of the eight Northeast states, to give them exposure to one of the world’s prestigious film festivals and connect them with some of the film fraternities from across the globe.
