Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Wednesday attended the Pradhan Mantri Svanidhi Yojana and National Urban Livelihood Mission beneficiary conference here at Agartala Town Hall and said that a multi-faceted plan was undertaken to redevelop the Agartala city.
The beneficiary conference was organized to commemorate the completion of 2 years of the governing body of the AMC.
Addressing the gathering of beneficiaries, the Mayor said that various plans are taken for the welfare of the street vendors of Agartala. Street vendors are being given loans of Rs. 10000 to Rs. 50000 under the Pradhan Mantri Svanidhi Yojana.
Aiming to redevelop and build ‘New Agartala’, the AMC has constructing roads, renovating old roads, renovating old and abandoned ponds and others, he said, adding that efforts have been made to improve city drains, electrification, door-to-door garbage collection, opening of open gyms, and expansion of drinking water facilities in the city.
Reflecting on the achievements of the current governing body of AMC in the past two years, Mayor Dipak Majumder emphasized that a multi-pronged approach has been adopted to redevelop Agartala city in the next three years. He assured the citizens that the corporation’s report card for these two years would be shared with them.
