Union Minister of State, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik on Thursday asserted that ongoing “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” was not an only vehicle yatra of the government but a symbol of people’s dream.
Union Minister of State, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik, was addressing in “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” campaign at Swami Vivekananda Maidan on Thursday, said that ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was not a vehicle yatra but a symbol of the peoples of the country.
The yatra must reach every corner of the state and sincere effort must be put in to ensure that targeted people avail benefits from the state and central government schemes and programmes,” she added.
The government is working hard to ensure that the benefits of all the welfare schemes reach up to the people of the last mile, and no poor in the country is left out in the journey of development. She said through Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, the government aims to achieve 100 percent saturation of all the flagship programmes of the government all over the country.
The ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ would connect every eligible person with public welfare schemes. The nationwide ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Tribal Pride Day on November 15. The Yatra involves direct contact with the common people, raising awareness among them and providing them access to sanitation facilities, essential financial services, electricity connections, LPG cylinders, housing for the poor, food security, proper nutrition, reliable health services, clean drinking water, etc, she added.
The country cannot be prosperous only through industrial development and leaving behind the poor. The target of developed India can be achieved by bringing the poor into the mainstream of development, she added.
