Two Bikes recovered; 2 lifters arrested
In a successful attempt, the Agartala city police have arrested two motorcycle lifters and seized two stolen motorcycles on Tuesday night. The arrested motorcycle lifters have been identified as Apritam Roy (27) resident of Hater Khola under Kamalpur Police Station and Lemphu Debbarma (24) resident of Nishan Chandra Para near Gourmani stadium under Mandhai Police Station.
The police stated that based on secret information, Police personnel from East Agartala police station laid a trap and arrested Apritam Roy from Mordern club area and Lemphu Debbarma from Lake Chowmuhani area and seized two stolen motorcycles on Tuesday night. Both the motorcycle lifters were produced before the court on Wednesday.
During the past several months, the capital city police have arrested a number of thieves and motor bike lifters involved in a series of stolen incidents and after the arrest of these criminals, the growing number of stolen incidents across Agartala has also started decreasing.
