Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday lauded Narendra Modi-led central government for “exemplary work” in the field of women empowerment since 2014. “We have a PM who has clearly said that if the country has to progress then women have to ensure their participation in national development,” he said at a Shakti Vandan workshop in Surma.

The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister is trying to take the women of the country to the forefront. The state government is also implementing various schemes to make women self-reliant. Apart from 33 percent seats are reserved for women in government jobs. Also 50 percent reservation has been made for women in allotment of government market stalls and shopping complexes. 

The main thrust of the development of the state government is to extend the benefits of development projects to the people living in the most marginalized areas. “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas” are the main driving forces of the current government. The government has given utmost importance to the socio-economic up liftment of the people of the state, he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched many projects aimed at empowering women. The present state government has been working on the goal of women self-empowerment in the state since its inception, he added.

The state government is keen to ensure women led development in the state. This is the era of new India’s Nari Shakthi (woman power). They are breaking barriers and making an impact, he added.
