Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated various construction projects of a unique scale, including academic and administrative buildings, library blocks, hostels for students and girls of the Central Sanskrit University of Tripura through video conference from Jammu.  

The infrastructural development inaugurated on Tuesday include Tripura’s Central Sanskrit University and Maharaja Bir Bikram University, establishment of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Sepahijala district.

Chief Minister Professor Dr Manik Saha and Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik also participated in the virtual inauguration ceremony organized at the Central Sanskrit University in Lembuchara.

Addressing the nation in a virtual event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that modernization of the country’s education system has been given importance. He said, “Various projects have been inaugurated and foundation stones laid in various states of the country today with the aim of creating education, industrial institutions, communication systems, employment opportunities.”

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha said that Sanskrit language enhances the brilliance of human intellect in various fields including poetry, logic, grammar, philosophy and science. The Chief Minister said that the Central Sanskrit University has been established with the aim of promoting and expanding the Sanskrit language across the country.

“Among the 13 campuses established across the country, the lone campus in the state is the 11th campus which was established over a decade ago. The decade-long campus has offered various courses in modern subjects and languages as well as classical disciplines such as grammar, literature, astrology, dharma and pedagogy. With an investment of more than 100.83 crore rupees, the Sanskrit University has combined the country’s ancient traditions with modern subjects,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Union MoS for SJ&E Pratima Bhowmik in her speech said that the Prime Minister is working to promote the culture and culture of the country to the highest place in the world. Prime Minister has decided to strengthen the country in all aspects by 2047, she said, adding that for this he has given special importance on overall development of youth.
