In yet another anti-narcotics drive, Tripura Police seized a hefty amount of contraband items from Teliamura railway station on Sunday. The contraband items which were seized are Eskuf Syrup.
The police stated that they received a crucial tip-off, on the basis of the tip-off police personnel Teliamura police station laid a trap in Teliamura railway station. During the raid police officials found 112 bottles of Eskuf Syrup. The three arrested have been identified as Ranjith, Raja Ram Kumar and Kanaya Thakur residents of Bihar.
Moreover, the estimated value of the confiscated Eskuf Syrup in the illicit market amounts to approximately Rs 1 lakh.
However, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has called on Tripura to get rid of drugs. Police are seizing crores worth of heroin, brown sugar and arresting traffickers, but the real kingpins remain out of reach, which is why the state is not moving towards a drug-free state despite so many anti-drug campaigns.
