Along with the rest of the country, Tripura also celebrated the International Women’s Day, 2024 at MBB Stadium on Friday. To mark the occasion a programme was organized by the Tripura Cricket Association at MBB Stadium on Friday.
Addressing the occasion Deputy Speaker of the state legislative assembly Ram Prasad Paul said that the state government is also implementing various schemes to make women self-reliant. Apart from 33 percent seats are reserved for women in government jobs. Also 50 percent reservation has been made for women in allotment of government market stalls and shopping complexes.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched many projects aimed at empowering women. The present state government has been working on the goal of women self-empowerment in the state since its inception, he added.
The state government is keen to ensure women led development in the state. This is the era of new India’s Nari Shakthi (woman power). They are breaking barriers and making an impact, he added.
Meanwhile, Chief Whip and MLA Kalyani Ray said “Women today are not only independent, women are also leading the society, Women in the country are advancing day by day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many schemes undertaken by the State Government have prioritized women.
Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, Vice President of BJP Tripura Pradesh Subal Bhowmik and others were present.
