Tripura government is working as per its commitment to enhance the farmers’ income across the state, said Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Friday after inaugurating the Agriculture Development Research & Training centre at Karbook.

Minister Ratan Lal Nath emphasized on producing more crops in less time using innovative technologies in agriculture. Tripura government is working as per its commitment to enhance the farmers’ income across the state, he added.

The Tripura government is working with utmost importance to give all types of facilities to the farmers of the state. This step has been taken to make ‘Ek Tripura Shrestha Tripura’. The government is working for the welfare of the people from all parts of the state. Several steps have been taken to improve the standard of living of the people including the development of a communication system, he added.

Tripura is moving towards to become a full-fledged organic state. The area under organic farming has increased substantially. Asserting that organic farming will be a game changer for the welfare of farmers, Ratan Lal Nath said fresh vegetables and fruits which are produced in the ecological system of cultivation will fetch a good price for the growers. The state will promote organic farming to double the income of the farmers, the minister said.

MLA Sanjay Manik,  Shilachari Block Advisory Committee Chairman Thanga Mog and others were present in the inaugural ceremony.
