Tripura to set up transgender welfare board says Tinku Roy

Tripura social welfare minister Tinku Roy held a meeting with a group of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender, queer, and members of the LGBTQ community on their rights and social security to address the issues faced by the community.
The Minister Tinku Roy said that in a bid to protect the rights of the transgender community of the state the Tripura government is looking forward to constitute a welfare board for the transgenders.
A 24-point charter of demands was raised during the meeting to formulate a strategy and policy to protect the rights of the LGBTQ community.
