Ganja worth Rs 1 crore seized, one held
Tripura Police arrested one and seized over 1,280 kilograms of cannabis (ganja) from a Guwahati-bound truck at Ambassa naka checkpoint in Bet Bagan area on Monday night.The police stated that they received a crucial tip-off, on the basis of the tip-off police personnel from Ambassa Police station along laid a trap and intercepted the Guwahati bound truck bearing numbered NL 01 AG 7494 . Upon checking the truck, police officials found over 1,280 kilograms of cannabis (ganja) hidden inside 14 oil drums. Police have arrested the truck driver identified as Dinesh Gautam, a resident of Bihar. The accused was booked under relevant sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.The truck Left Agartala with some goods along with the Ganja, which was intended to be sold in Bihar, said cops.
