Rotary club observes world environment day
The Rotary Club Of Agartala organized a Tree and saplings Plantation supported by Suman Foundation and Plant Lovers together on Wednesday to mark the world environment day.
This event was done in collaboration with Agartala Municipal Corporation and Smart City Project Authority.
Over 200 trees of 47 different species of saplings were planted in and around Kumari Tila Lake. During the selection of species, factors such as prevention of warming, soil conservation, balance of nature, prevention of air pollution were considered.
Rtn.Kisalaya Ghosh Secretary of Rotary Club of Agartala,Rtn.Dipankar Prakash Bhowmick, Rtn. Subir Bhaumik, Rtn.Sujit Chanda, Rtn. Sukanta Goswami, Rtn. Swapan Bhaumik, Rtn. Shyamal Kanti Majumdar, Rtn. Tarun Kumar Das, Rtn. Subhendu Chakraborty, Rtn. Reba Chakraborty and many other Rotarians were present.
Debashish Dey of Suman Foundation, Shovan Bhattacharya, Arunesh Das of Plant Lovers, Sanhita Bhattacharya, Subhashis Sarkar and many other members were also present.
In this event, a large number of morning walkers, environment conscious people and people of the area also participated.
