Massive fire engulfs warehouse
A massive fire broke out at a warehouse in Madhuban Bagarchattal area under Amtali Police Station on Saturday. No casualties were reported as all the people inside were able to get out on time.
The workers of the warehouse noticed the fire at around 10:00 am in the morning. The fire brigade received the call informing them about the fire at around 10: 03 am, following which one fire tender was pressed into service. But due to severity of the fire more fire tenders from Badharghat and Maharajganj Bazar were also pressed into service and after their joint effort the fire tenders were able to douse the flames after three hours. The initial damage was estimated at Rs 12 lakh, said the owner of the warehouse.
A short-circuit might have triggered the fire, the fire officer said the exact cause of the blaze was being ascertained
