In a effort to restore the normalcy in Jiribam Assam Rifles on Tuesday provided assistance in ensuring safe return of villagers who have taken shelter at Chingdong Leikai Primary School Relief Camp back to their homes at Village Monbung, Jiribam in Manipur.Assam Rifles in its press communiqué stated that a total of 133 people, including 26 men, 45 women and 62 children returned back to their homes in Monbung after improved security situation in the area. The homecoming move was meticulously coordinated under Jiribam District Adminiatration with Assam Rifles, CRPF and Jiribam police. The backdrop of this homecoming is the violence that erupted in Jiribam on 06 June 24, prompting the swift evacuation of Village Monbung residents by Assam Rifles personnels.
