Police arrests 5 inter-state ganja peddlers in Agartala
Tripura police apprehended five inter-state ganja smugglers including three women and confiscated 14 kilograms of ganja valued at approximately Rs 4 lakh from Agartala Chandrapur Inter-State Bus Terminus on Wednesday. The arrested persons have been identified as Anjit Kumar, Munna Kumar, Chamali Devi, Sita Devi and Dhrog Devi all of them residents of Bihar.
The police stated that they received information, on the basis of the police personnel from East Agartala Police Station went to the spot and apprehended five inter-state ganja smugglers including three women. The seized marijuana (ganja) was wrapped in their body. After the preliminary investigation, the arrested people said that the seized marijuana (ganja) was intended for smuggling purpose beyond Tripura’s border. Moreover, the estimated value of the confiscated marijuana (ganja) in the illicit market amounts to approximately Rs 4 lakh, the cop said.
We have already started the investigation and soon we will be able to nab the persons from whom they are buying the marijuana (ganja), added the cop.
