A bicycle rally was organized today by the Tripura State Pollution Control Board on the occasion of World Environment Day which will be celebrated on 5th June all over the world including Tripura.
The bicycle rally was started in front of the Heritage Park and the bicycle rally was flagged off by Principal Secretary, Forests, PCCF & HoFF K.S. Sethi and Tripura State Pollution Control Board Member Secretary Dr. Bishu Karmakar.
Principal Secretary, Forests, PCCF & HoFF K.S. Sethi said that World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5 June. This day helps raise awareness about environmental problems and how we can take steps to tackle them. People should know about the environmental issues that are going to be a big threat in the near future. It is important to take action immediately to avoid major problems later on. We should learn to take care of our environment. World Environment Day helps us know more about the changes we can implement. This year the theme pertains to ‘solutions to plastic pollution’, he said.
