Over 100 Rohingyas were arrested during the last six months in Tripura. In the month of June Tripura Police arrested 11 Rohingya who entered Indian territory from Bangladesh in the Kadamtala area on the Assam-Tripura border on June 16. According to the police, based on specific information, they conducted a search at the Naka checking point near the Assam-Tripura border and arrested the Rohingya group.
In the month of May five Rohingya intruders were arrested at Dharmanagar Railway station on May 18. The Rohingya intruders group illegally crossed the Indo-Bangla international border. They were suspected by Railway Police when the group attempted to board a train to reach Jammu & Kashmir.
In the month of March three Rohingya Muslim men were arrested from Dharmanagar Railway station on March 22. The three Rohingya were preparing to travel to Delhi. According to the police, with the help of a Bangladeshi handler, they entered India and were planning to travel to the National capital, where they were promised a job by the handler.
A total of 33 Rohingya were arrested at Agartala Railway station in February 2023. A total of 68 Rohingya Muslims were arrested in Tripura and along the Assam-Tripura border. It should be mentioned that BSF in Tripura arrested 59 Rohingya and 150 Bangladeshi Nationals in 2022 alone.
