Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha chaired a high-level review meeting today on successful implementation of the campaign program titled ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’. Minister for Cooperation, Tribal Welfare (TRP & PTG), Welfare of Minorites Sukla Charan Noatia, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests KS Shetty and other high-ranking officers were present in this meeting held in the meeting room No. 2 of the state Secretariat.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said that Prime Minister Narendra Modiji’s initiative to implement ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’ program to inculcate patriotic thoughts among the people of the country is truly unprecedented. This program should be seriously implemented in the state as well.

The Chief Minister said that as part of the ‘Meri Mitri Mera Desh’ programme, soil will be collected from 58 blocks of the state and soil will be also collected from Agartala Municipal Corporation area will be sent to New Delhi. In this regard, the chief minister has advised to send the urns well-decorated. He further said that ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program has also been successfully implemented in the state as a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrita Mohotsav’, which has enhanced the reputation of the state within the country.  He expressed hope that the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ program will also be successfully implemented in the state with the combined efforts of all. The Chief Minister urged the District Magistrates to take more responsibility in implementing this program at the district level.

In the meeting, Secretary of the Department of Information and Culture Pradeep Kumar Chakraborty detailed all the initiatives that have been taken to implement the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ programme, and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Azadi Ka Amrita Mohotsav’ on March 12, 2021 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. This festival is going to end in the month of August 2023. On the occasion of the closing ceremony of this festival, a campaign program titled ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ will be celebrated across the country from August 9 to August 30.
