TripuraheraldChief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday chaired a review meeting On trafficking system in the Agartala Municipal Corporation areas and said that the state is using State-of-the-art technology to control traffic in the city.The Chief Minister reviewed various aspects of the traffic system in the and said that the latest technology is being used in the traffic system. The state government is working on a multi-pronged plan to ensure that the citizens can travel safely on the roads, he said.There is a need to increase the number of parking zones in Agartala city to avoid traffic congestion. The Chief Minister directed the Superintendent of Traffic Police to identify locations for establishing parking zones.The chief minister also directed the officers to remove the existing vendors, who are running their business along the roadside in AMC areas and relocate them at designated areas. He also directed the traffic unit to control the movement of battery operated rickshaws on the busy roads of Agartala city.The Corporations and Transport Departments have to jointly undertake functional roles and check that all flats or multi-storied buildings being constructed have parking facility, Dr Saha said.

Addressing in a Blood Donation Camp Organised by Rotary Club of Agartala City in Association with RAC Agartala Central and RAC Agartala City here in Agartala on Sunday Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said it takes just a few minutes to donate blood, with each unit of blood donated being used to save four lives. We can segregate blood components these days and one unit is used to save lives. Many a time blood is not easily available to people in emergency situations. People need to understand the importance of blood donation and there is no harm in donating it. Donation is the lone source of blood. So, to save life, blood needs to be donated, he said.
There are 14 blood banks in the state. The current government of the state is constantly trying to improve the health system, he added.
Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, President of Agartala Rotary Club Dr. Nihar Ranjan Das and others were present in the blood donation camp.

TripuraheraldChief Minister Dr Manik Saha has inaugurated the event here at Agartala Rabindra Bhavan on Friday. The Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha after inaugurating the event said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the PM-Vishwakarma scheme for the overall development of all the traditional artisans and artists of our country who were never recognized before.He said that the main objective of the project is to provide facilities to the traditional artisans and artists associated with 18 selected trades including carpenters, masons, barbers, washermen, malakars, tailors, doll and toy makers. The scheme provides benefits like skill training, collateral-free loans, modern machinery or equipment, incentives for digital transactions etc. to the artisans, he added.The chief minister also said that the condition of the state’s rural economy is now much better with the increase of Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The Self Help Groups are being supported through various welfare schemes of the Central and State Governments. Besides, the self-help groups are also getting credit facilities from the banks.
Meanwhile, The Union Minister of Micro-Small-Medium Enterprises (MSME) Jitan Ram Manjhi on Friday claimed that the state of Tripura has made a significant progress in executing the Centre’s PM Vishwakarma scheme, which aims to enhance the rural economy.He made this remark while attending the inauguration of three-day long exhibition and fair on PM-Vishwakarma Scheme. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has inaugurated the event here at Agartala Rabindra Bhavan on Friday.Addressing the event, the Union Minister said that various programs are being implemented across the country under the PM-Vishwakarma project. The main objective of this project is to generate income for the poor section of the society, he said, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid special emphasis on self-employment through micro, small and medium enterprises. It is in this view that the prime minister has taken this initiative so that the people of rural areas can live comfortably, he added.He also claimed that Tripura has made significant progress in implementing the PM-Vishwakarma scheme among the North Eastern regions. He expressed hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of building a self-reliant and developed India would be realized through the implementation of the development programme.
Industry and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma said on the occasion that special importance has been given to micro, small and medium industries in the formation of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Atmanirbhar Tripura. She expressed hope that the quality of life of artisans associated with 18 traditional professions will improve through this project.

The state level youth festival to begin from November 13 at Kailasahar in Unakoti district of the state. The three days long festival will end on November 15.
The minister further informed that Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha is likely to inaugurate the programme on November 13. He also said that competitions in group and solo folk dances, folk songs, painting, poetry and story writing will be held in the youth festival.
In the meeting, a management committee and 9 sub-committees have been formed for the smooth completion of the youth festival and science fair.

The Officer-in-Charge of the Government Railway Police Station Tapas Das informed there was information about the arrival of some Bangladesh nationals, on the basis of the information the GRP RPF have detained 3 Bangladeshi nationals from Agartala railway station. We have recovered Some Bangladeshi Currency and Indian currency from them. The arrested bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Sagar Ghosh (19), Sonali Rani Ghosh (37) and Manisha Kumari Ghosh (19) all of them residents of Narail District in Bangladesh. Preliminary probe revealed that the Bangladeshis crossed the borders illegally and entered Indian soil. The 3Bangladeshi nationals were planning to go to Kolkata. They will be produced before a court, the police officer said.

The Officer-in-Charge of the Government Railway Police Station Tapas Das informed that, they received an information, on the basis of the information they laid a trap and detained one person from Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express. During the search of the backpacks police recovered 15.5 kilograms of dry cannabis. After the preliminary investigation the arrested said that the seized marijuana (ganja) was intended for smuggling purpose, the police officer said.

He said, “The fact is that the state has recorded a lesser number of crimes this year compared to the last 10 years.”Referring to the alleged custodial death of a tribal youth in Manubazar police station, the DGP said that the police do make mistakes sometimes but action was taken swiftly in the case.The DGP’s statement came amid the opposition’s criticism of the police over the death of a tribal youth after alleged custodial torture, the murder of a businessman in Agartala, and communal tensions in North Tripura’s Kadamtala and Panisagar.
