Campaigning for Tripura by election ends
The campaigning for the Tripura by election in the Boxanagar (No-20) and Dhanpur (No-23) seats ended on Sunday. BJP-nominated candidate Bindu Debnath is contesting the Dhanpur constituency, BJP-nominated candidate Tafajjal Hussain is contesting the Boxangar constituency. On the other hand from CPI-M Kaushik Chanda is contesting the Dhanpur constituency and Mizan Hussain is contesting the Boxangar constituency.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha led the party’s campaign from the front while ministers, MLAs and leaders joined the campaign trail in the last couple of days.
In order to ensure a free and fair election a review meeting under the chairmanship of chief electoral officer of Tripura on Poll Preparedness & to discuss other related issues in connection with Bye-Election was held at New Town Hall, Sonamura on Saturday.
DM (Sipahijala) Dr Bishal Kumar, ADM and returning officer of Dhanpur Jayanta De, the returning officer of Boxanagar Bhaswar Bhattacharjee, SP (Sipahijala) B.J.Reddy, SDM (Sonamura) Manik Lal Das on other concerned officials were present in the review meeting.
