The third National Lok Adalat of the year is scheduled to be held on September 9 next in all the district and sub-divisional court premises of the state in addition to the Tripura High Court.
Around 15,271 cases, out of which 7,467 matters related to pre-litigation disputes including bank loan recovery and BSNL bill recovery and 7804 pending cases including MACT, NI, matrimonial disputes, and others will be taken up for disposals, said Member Secretary of the Tripura State Legal Service Authority Sabyasachi Dutta Purakayastha on Wednesday.
He said that along with the rest of the state, the National Lok Adalat bench will be seated in the Tripura High Court, where around 65 cases will be taken up for disposal.
A help desk will be set up in the court premises to help the citizens during the Lok Adalat, while the paralegal volunteers will assist people at the court premises.
He however urged the general public to take advantage of case settlement quickly and without legal expenses.
