Voluntary blood donation is the best act of humanitarian service & the best gift one can give to others, said chief minister Dr. Manik Saha while addressing in a blood donation camp organized by healthcare staff of AGMC & GBP hospital at AGMC on Tuesday.
The chief minister said that there is no religion or caste in blood. Through blood donation there is an opportunity to remove differences and become one. Blood donation also gives rise to spiritual feelings. The Chief Minister said that many times it can be noticed that there is no similarity in blood category among the members of their own family. Again, the blood of the blood recipient is found to be similar to other people. This proves that we are all one, we are all the same. There is no charity other than blood donation, he added.
The health system has improved a lot in the state. Initiatives have been taken to improve district hospitals. The state government is constantly trying to provide health services to every people of the state. He further said that AGMC hospital is not inferior to any hospital in India in any respect. The doctors and medical staff here are doing good work. The chief minister also said that sometimes it can be seen that doctors are victims of violence. In that case, it should be remembered that the contribution of doctors to the society is infinite. So people must have confidence in doctors. Also, doctors and medical staff need to be courteous to the patient’s family, he said.
