Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Tuesday said teachers imparted knowledge and wisdom thereby showing the path for future citizens and played a key role in building and strengthening the ethical and moral foundations of students.

Addressing in the inaugural ceremony of Platinum Jubilee celebration of Sekerkote Higher Secondary School & Alumni Meet at Sekerkote on Tuesday Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said that the state government has taken a novel initiative to educate students through sports. Such initiatives will help the physical, mental and spiritual development of the students.

The Chief Minister said that an institution is built with the collective efforts of all. Respect and honour should be given to those who contributed in building the institution. We must move towards the future based on history. If sports and studies go on equally, the students will develop as good citizens in the future. The responsibility of the teachers is to look after the students in the school. Besides, it is the responsibility of the parents to see whether the children attend school on time or not. Students should be taught to be rich in human values from the educational institutions. The teaching of the teachers and their motivational speeches make a deep impression on the minds of the students. Which paves the way for future students? Teachers also have an important role in the mental development of students. He said the methods and subjects of study are changing with time. Therefore, in addition to the traditional teaching of teachers, it is necessary to give importance to the subjects related to modern education in school teaching.

Referring to the new National Education Policy, the Chief Minister said that this education policy is also being implemented in the state in phases. As a result, students’ mental stress will be reduced a lot. He said that there is no shortage of talent among the children of the state. The state government has given special emphasis on building the best system in health and education.

The Chief Minister said that the infrastructure of teacher training institutes and the infrastructure of SCERT are being improved.
