The Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel on Wednesday said that the North-eastern state of Tripura has ranked fourth among the Himalayan states in terms of export preparedness.
Patel chaired a review meeting with the officials in Sepahijala district and said that the export plan of each district of Tripura has been designed by the government. She said in order to increase exports from the state, her ministry will provide financial grant to establish the infrastructure. More exports from Tripura will eventually boost the state’s economy, she added.
“In addition to the support to the industry in Tripura, my ministry will definitely grant financial support to the Tripura government to boost exports and grow the state’s economy,” she told reporters.
Meanwhile, Patel praised the Tripura government’s effort in boosting the industrial sector and said, “Projects such as the Special Economic Zone, Border Mart, Unity Mall, and land customs stations are under the direct purview of the Industries and Commerce Ministry, and we will fully support the state government in providing better facilities.”
