The state government has taken various steps to improve the quality of sports and an initiative has been taken to build better sports infrastructure in the state said minister for youth Affairs & Sports Tinku Roy while speaking in the Annual General Meeting of Tripura School Sports Board at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Yuba Awas on Thursday.
Development of sports fields is a priority area of the government. For this reason, three new projects have been announced for the development of sports fields in this year’s budget. In this year’s budget, it has been proposed to launch the Chief Minister’s Sports Development Scheme to build world-class sports infrastructure and to provide scholarships to aspiring players. For this, the budget has been estimated at Rs 8 crore, he added.
The Sports Minister said that this year’s budget has also proposed to launch the Chief Minister’s State Talent Search Program to provide quality training to women sportspersons.
The Annual General Meeting of Tripura School Sports Board was attended by the presidents of district councils of 8 districts of the state, the secretary of youth affairs and sports department PK Chakraborty and other officials.
