SW & SE department working for welfare of helpless and weaker sections of society: Tinku Roy
The Social Welfare & Social Education department is working for the welfare of the helpless and weaker sections of the society. Dissemination of social assistance of the department to the actual beneficiaries is the priority area of the department, said minister for youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education and Labour Tinku Roy while addressing in the inaugural session of the One day District Level awareness /workshop on different schemes and programmes implemented by SW & SE Department at Pensioners Awas Ashray, Kunjaban, Agartala on Thursday.
Public representatives have a significant role to play in delivering the benefits of all these projects and services of the department to the actual beneficiaries. Public representatives are the servants of the people. So the public representatives should be informed about the schemes and services of the Social Welfare Department. He expressed the hope that this workshop will help the public representatives to gain experience about the projects and services of the Social Welfare department, he added.
He said that many people are not aware about the projects and services of Social Welfare and Social Education Department. It is the responsibility of public representatives to present these projects and services to the public, he added.
The workshop was held with various projects and services of Social Welfare and Social Education Department. Elected public representatives of the district participated in the workshop.
