“Our government has been working with the utmost importance to ensure good health of the new generation”, said chief minister Dr. Manik Saha in the launching ceremony of the state-level special health drive- “Mukhyamantri Susthyo Shoishab, Sustho Koishore Abhiyan” (MSSSKA 5.0) at Sachin Debbarman Auditorium of Belonia in South Tripura district on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, chief minister Dr. Manik Saha said this drive will cover 11.11 lakh children & adolescents between the age groups 0-19 years from 19th Sept to 3rd Oct, 2023.The government has prioritized the development of health services and infrastructure in the state. Emphasis is placed on normal physical development of future generations, the Chief Minister said that parents should also be aware of the physical and mental development of children and adolescents. If the health of children and adolescents does not develop normally, their mental development will be disrupted. Healthy and strong children and adolescents are the future of the country. So for them to grow up healthy, the “Mukhyamantri Susthyo Shoishab, Sustho Koishore Abhiyan” (MSSSKA 5.0) has been launched in the state, he added.
The state government has given importance to the development of health infrastructure to deliver health services to the last people of the society. The district and sub-division hospitals are being strengthened to reduce the pressure of referral patients from district and sub-division to GB Hospital and IGM Hospital. To strengthen the basic health infrastructure of the state, plans have been made to construct 100 new sub-health centres. Apart from the development of health infrastructure, the state government is also sincere in solving the problems of health workers at all levels associated with health services. The state currently has public and private health institutions including medical colleges, dental colleges, nursing colleges. Based on them, a plan has been taken to build a medical hub in the state. Due to the creation of a favourable environment in the field of health services in the state, entrepreneurs from outside the state are also showing interest in investing in the health sector in the state, he added.
Minister for Cooperation, Tribal Welfare (TRP & PTG), Welfare of Minorities Shukla Charan Noatia, MLA Swapna Majumder, MLA Mailafu Mog and others were present.
