Police arrests five notorious thieves
Police personnel of East Agartala Police Station arrested five thieves associated with looting various items from different residences across the capital city and also recovered stolen goods worth Rs 4 lakh approximately.
Briefing the media persons in this context, SP West Dr. Kiran Kumar said on Tuesday, We were keeping an eye and had set up sources across the city to bust the theft racket for long days. Based on information from the secret sources, the police team successfully arrested five thieves who were involved in these theft cases.
Firstly we have arrested two thieves from Lake Chowmuhani area namely Rajib Karmakar (28) and Sohail Chowdhury (30). After interrogation we managed to arrest one more thief from Pratapgarh area namely Sachalang Debbarma (23) and after interrogation we managed to arrest two more thieves from M G Bazar area namely Rajib sarkar and Dipankar nandi, said SP West Dr. Kiran Kumar.
Four laptops, two mobile phones, a TV along with a bike engine and some rods were recovered from them. A hunt is on to arrest Raj Rishi Das who is a subordinate of these thieves, he added.
