Along with the nation, Tripura also celebrated Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad with religious fervour on Thursday. Milad processions were also being organised to mark the occasion.

Eid Milad Un Nabi is observed on the 12th day of Rabi Ul Awwal which is the third month of the Islamic Calendar. This day marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad. This day is considered to be one of the most auspicious day for them as this day reminds the kindness, compassion and teachings of Holy Prophet. This festival is celebrated on different dates by Shia and Sunni Muslims. Sunni Muslims celebrate this day on 12th day of Islamic while Shia Muslims celebrate this day on 17th day of Rabi Ul Awwal. They pay show their love with great respect to their last prophet.
