Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday inaugurated the Labarthi Parivar Maha Sammelan organized by Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission at Rabindra Satabarsiki Bhavan.
Addressing in the inaugural session Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha said the main thrust of the development of the state government is to extend the benefits of development projects to the people living in the most marginalized areas. “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas” are the main driving forces of the current government. The government has given utmost importance to the socio-economic up liftment of the people of the state, he added.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is implementing the vision of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay to deliver the benefits of development to the last person of the society. The state government is also continuously working to improve the socio-economic condition of the people under the direction of the Prime Minister. Since Narendra Modi took charge of the country as the Prime Minister, the country is gradually reaching the peak of development. And that was reflected in the recently held G-20 Summit, said the chief minister.
Referring to the issue of women empowerment, the Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister is trying to take the women of the country to the forefront. The state government is also implementing various schemes to make women self-reliant. Apart from 33 percent seats are reserved for women in government jobs. Also 50 percent reservation has been made for women in allotment of government market stalls and shopping complexes. Girls are getting free tuition in general degree colleges of the state. Free bicycle is being provided to girl students studying in class IX. So far about 1 lakh bicycles have been distributed among girl students. Besides, the state government has also taken the initiative of giving free scooty to meritorious female students who have passed the secondary and higher secondary examinations, he added.
