Training on “Increasing Productivity of Cross Pollinated Crops through Apiculture”
Under ATMA, training on “Increasing Productivity of Cross Pollinated Crops through Apiculture” was held at the Superintendent of Agriculture of Damcherra office. The training was given by Dr. Kalai of SMS, Panisagar KVK and Tulsi Chakma of SMS, Panisagar KVK.
While addressing the training Superintendent of Agriculture of Damcherra said honey bees increase fruiting through pollination and so increase production. Moreover it produces honey of 8 to 12 kilograms from each hive per time which is valued 1200 to 1500 rupees per kilogram, he added.
After the training, bee-hives were distributed among the trainees and Rs. 4000 will be given as assistance for rearing. The guests present at the programme were Chairman of BAC of Damcherra Block Upendra Reang and Vice Chairman Durshanta Reang.
