Police, CRPF destroy 35,000 ganja plants
The Tripura police, DIB staff along with CRPF jawans on Wednesday conducted a drug eradication operation in the Ghatigar, Kamalnagar and Krishnatala area under subdivision in Sipahijala district.
The police stated that they received a crucial tip-off, on the basis of the tip-off police personnel Sonamura police station, DIB staff along with and CRPF jawans took decisive action in the Ghatigar, Kamalnagar and Krishnatala area by uprooting 35,000 Marijuana (Ganja) plants.
Police, DIB staff and CRPF jawans launched operations in three locations in the three areas and effectively destroyed approximately 35,000 Marijuana (Ganja) plants in a single comprehensive campaign.
A police official said “Our operation was a resounding success, and we are committed to curbing drug cultivation in the region. We destroyed 35,000 Marijuana (Ganja) plants and the estimated market value of the confiscated narcotics is approximately Rs 15 lakh.”
