The Tripura police along with the Border Security Force (BSF) and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel on Thursday conducted a drug eradication operation in the Krishnatala area in Sipahijala district.
The police stated that they received a crucial tip-off, on the basis of the tip-off police personnel Sonamura police station along with the Border Security Force (BSF) and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel took decisive action in the Krishnatala area by uprooting 70,000 Marijuana (Ganja) plants.
Tripura police along with the Border Security Force (BSF) and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel launched operations in Krishnatala area and effectively destroyed approximately 70,000 Marijuana (Ganja) plants in a single comprehensive campaign.
A police official said “Our operation was a resounding success, and we are committed to curbing drug cultivation in the region. We destroyed 70,000 Marijuana (Ganja) plants and the estimated market value of the confiscated narcotics is approximately Rs 15 lakh.”
