A 144-member delegation of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party from the state of Tripura on Friday headed for Delhi to join the 2-day long national council meeting of the party starting from February 17 at Pragati Maidan.
The party delegates led by the state chief Rajib Bhattacharjee took off for Delhi for the meeting, which is mainly focused on discussing issues related to the upcoming polls. Prime Minister Narendra Modi accompanied by the BJP national president J P Nadda will chair the meeting.
“The meeting is mainly called to design the strategy of the party for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, where the BJP leaders and workers including the Chief Ministers and council of ministers from the BJP-ruling states will participate,” said BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee.
Before flying for Delhi, Bhattacharjee told reporters that the party’s preparation for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections will begin from the national council meeting in Delhi, where the Prime Minister along with the union home minister Amit Shah and national president J P Nadda will pave a way with the party’s strategy for contesting the ensuing Lok Sabha election.
“This national council will be held in view of the party’s slogan of Fir Se Ekbar Modi Sarkar to ensure Modi guarantee,” he added.
The prime minister is also scheduled to virtually address the people of the northeastern state on February 24, as part of the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Tripura’ (Developed India Developed Tripura) programme.
