The former Chief Minister of Tripura and the nominated Lok Sabha candidate for West Tripura constituency Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday held the CPI-M responsible for the people’s suffering during the last 25 years of its rule in Tripura.
Addressing an election rally and joining ceremony here at Agartala, Deb said, “People of the state were forced to join the communist movement to tag them as communist and not for their welfare.”
“The Communist party has failed to empower women rather the women were forced to join communist rallies during the last 25 years of their rule in Tripura,” he said, adding that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP government at the Centre worked and brought a new dimension to women empowerment across the country.
Deb urged the BJP workers to move to every CPI-M voter and seek votes for the BJP for the ensuing Lok Sabha and by-elections. He said, “The Congress-CPI-M alliance is simply a mockery as the families of the martyred CPI-M leaders under the Congress’ terror tactics need to vote for the Congress candidate now.” He labelled communist party as the instigator of crime against women. He said, “Foreign forces like communist party has brought the tradition of crime against women, which is not present in Indian culture.”
Meanwhile, in the joining ceremony 450 voters from 111 families left various parties and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
